They called me and during their buyer's consultation mentioned this house. I called the listing agent right away and asked if the sellers would sign a back up offer. She not only said yes but she told me exactly what the winning bid was. It was a mere 5K over what my clients had offered with their other agent and they would gladly pay this price. We wrote up the offer, submitted it to the sellers, and they signed. TWO DAYS LATER the first buyers were not able to get their financing together and terminated their contract. The "plum tree house" didn't even go back on the market! My clients became the new buyers and eventually proud homeowners!!!
So you missed out on your dream home, your agent didn't call ahead, you didn't have a Buyer's Consultation, and GOT OUT BID on the perfect home. Well, consider a back up offer.
